Guided Training Sessions
Airofit Active introduces you to specific breathing patterns that focus on different goals, like relaxation, general well-being or sports performance
As you complete your breathing training sessions, Airofit Active will keep track of your training history and try to help you with staying consistent.
Airofit is the world’s first data-driven respiratory training system that allows users to improve their breathing muscle strength, speed, and efficiency, therefore improving their physical performance and general wellbeing.
Airofit does not interfere with any ongoing training. Since the breathing trainer is designed to be used separately from any other physical activity, you can only benefit from additional respiratory training. This makes Airofit a completely different concept from the infamous breathing masks that restrict oxygen flow during exercise, therefore compromising the training of your locomotor muscles.
Respiratory training works just like training any other muscle group using resistance – your muscles become faster, stronger, and more efficient.
Not many know that respiratory muscle fatigue is often a limiting factor during a performance. This is known as metaboreflex. Once your breathing muscles get tired, metaboreflex kicks in by diverting blood flow towards these muscles, therefore taking oxygen away from locomotor muscles. This is a basic physiological function since in a survival situation your breathing muscles are more vital than your limbs. However, making the breathing muscles more efficient, you will delay this effect significantly.
The training system consists of a Breathing Trainer and a mobile application. The Breathing Trainer measures your breathing data like inspiratory and expiratory strength and vital capacity. The data is processed and visualized on your smartphone in real-time, giving you live feedback and guidance, as well as the ability to track your progress over time.
All Airofit training sessions and programs are completely tailored to each individual – their physical ability, age, sex, and preference. Airofit measures the person’s expiratory and inspiratory strength and vital capacity. It then takes that measured data and uses it as a baseline for all ongoing training. All training and test results are then compared to an individual of the same age, sex, and size – this gives the user a better understanding of their physical condition compared to the population.
Unlike its competitors, Airofit targets different areas of breathing. While others can train only inspiratory, and sometimes expiratory strength, Airofit trains both inspiratory and expiratory strength, vital capacity, anaerobic threshold, revitalization, and other areas.
All Airofit’s sessions and programs are developed by breathing experts like the former world champion in freediving, Dr. Mike Maric.
Airofit benefits everyone – professional athletes, amateur athletes, anyone who has ever run out of breath while taking the stairs, as well as those who suffer from pulmonary issues like Asthma or COPD. Airofit was originally developed as a medical device for Asthma and COPD aid by Danish Medtech company AMBU.
