Why should I take this energy gel?
SiS GO Isotonic Gels represent a highly practical solution to your in-training and competition fuelling strategy by providing you with a quick supply of 20 grams of carbohydrate per gel. Gels can easily be carried in your pocket or your race belt without the requirement for bulky bottles .Depleting your carbohydrate stores during exercise is one of the major causes of fatigue. In addition to ensuring optimal carbohydrate stores before exercise, delivering additional carbohydrate during exercise is known to improve performance, race times and delay the onset of fatigue.
Consume 1-3 GO Isotonic gels per hour to deliver approximately 60 grams of carbohydrate and maximize carbohydrate utilization rates. Where hydration is also important, SiS GO Isotonic Gels can also be consumed with SiS GO Hydro or with SiS GO Electrolyte to ensure a combination of both energy and fluid delivery during exercise.

Are these products gluten free?
Yes SIS GO Isotonic Gel 60 ml is gluten free.
Is there a place online where I can get the nutritional contents (as is displayed on the back of the packaging) online?
Yes – all the nutritional information for all our SiS products can be found on the website if you click on the ‘info’ button against each of the flavour variations of the product you are interested in.
How often would you recommend taking these during exercise e.g. a long run?
Typically 1 every 20-30 minutes but this needs to be part of a strategy taking 60-80g of carbs per hour for max performance. Alternatively they can can be taken just as needed.
How quickly do these gels take effect or get absorbed? e.g. how long should i take it before a time trial?
The SiS GO Isotonic Gels are pretty much instantaneously effective/absorbed so it would be taken within minutes of starting the time trial.
Please could advise me whether any of your products contain nuts, nut oils or traces of nuts as my son is allergic and must avoid all nuts. Many thanks
The only products that contain nuts or nut traces are the SiS Protein Bars so you would need to avoid these.
Are SiS GO Isotonic gels designed to replace isotonic drinks?
They were originally designed to make it easy for an athlete to take an energy boost without the need for bulky energy drinks or to co-administer with water as was the case with the older generation of energy gels. There are situations where they would be complementary to electrolyte drinks as part of a flexible nutrition strategy.

ARE SIS PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS? WHICH PRODUCTS ARE GLUTEN FREE?
Most of our products are suitable for vegetarians. The only products that may not be suitable for vegetarians are the SiS Protein Bars in both Chocolate & Peanut and Mint Chocolate flavours. Only SiS GO Electrolyte powder, SiS GO Energy powder, SiS GO Hydro and SiS GO gels (including isotonic energy and all specialty gels) are suitable for vegans
ARE SIS GO ISOTONIC ENERGY GELS DESIGNED TO REPLACE ISOTONIC DRINKS?
No, they were designed to make it easy for an athlete to take an energy boost that is convenient during exercise and light on the stomach. More concentrated gels, particularly those which contain simple sugars such as glucose and fructose are more likely to cause gastric distress. No additional water is needed to help the absorption of SiS GO Isotonic gels, but you should still drink to remain hydrated during your activity.
